The God of Second Chances is a collection of the poetic works of the Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen. Every poem has a tale. The God of Second Chances was written for a friend who was entering the bonds of holy matrimony for the second time. Forever was written at a time when his wife was doing battle with ovarian cancer. Dear Mariah was written on the occasion of his daughter's baptism. Poems like Long Awaited Peace and God Spoke were written as Dr. Jensen was working on a book entitled, Spiritual Healing for Depression. They utilize what Jensen calls "empathic imagination." The purpose of this volume is to move faith one foot down. In other words, faith becomes real as it moves from our heads to our hearts.
